International High Entropy Materials Consortium

Aim

The aim of International High Entropy Materials Consortium (IHEMC) is to promote international collaborations on research and development of high entropy materials.

Function

  • IHEMC maintains a website platform, which links to all research activities of high entropy materials. This website can also promote conferences and symposiums related to high entropy materials
  • Issue monthly newsletter to all who register on the IHEMC website
  • Decide the hosting country for upcoming International Conference of High Entropy Materials
  • Launch and manage the International Journal of High Entropy Materials
  • Provide a platform for the international community to construct and share a dedicated database in order to discover novel high entropy materials jointly and efficiently

How Committees Work

Annual Meetings

  • All steering committees are expected to meet annually at least once by webmeeting or during any of the regular high entropy materials related conferences or symposiums, e.g. ICHEM, TMS, IMRC, MS&T, MRS, THERMEC, MS&T.
  • The chairman of the steering committees and his staff liaisons are responsible for informing committee members of meeting dates, times, and locations well in advance of any meeting.
  • Agenda for discussions include ICHEM, and operations associated with publication, database and website & newsletter issues. Some members of the steering committees may wish to participate directly in publication, database, and website & newsletter teams.

Minutes

  • Minutes of committee meetings are usually produced by the committee secretary or the staff liaison of the chairman.

Recommendations to the steering committees

  • Specific recommendations need to be channeled through the secretary or the staff liaison of the chairman. The secretary or staff liaison will be informed of any action or decision following the committee meeting.

Expenses

  • When a committee member attends a meeting in person, it is customary for their employer to pay for travel, hotel, and incidental expenses.
